॥ Kīlakam ॥ ॥ कीलकस्तोत्रम् ॥

Sanskrit

ॐ अस्य श्रीकीलकस्तोत्रमन्त्रस्य शिव ऋषिः। अनुष्टुप् छन्दः। श्रीमहासरस्वती देवता।
ॐ नमश्चण्डिकायै॥

Transliteration

om asya śrīkīlakastotramantrasya śiva ṛṣiḥ, anuṣṭup chandaḥ,
śrīmahāsarasvatī devatā, śrījagadambāprītyarthaṁ
om namaścaṇḍikāyai ॥

English Translation

For this Kīlaka Śiva is the seer, the metre is Anuṣṭub and the deity is Mahāsarasvatī; Salutations to Caṇḍikā.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 001॥

Sanskrit

विशुद्धज्ञानदेहाय त्रिवेदीदिव्यचक्षुषे।
श्रेयःप्राप्तिनिमित्ताय नमः सोमार्धधारिणे ॥ १॥

Transliteration

om viśuddhajñānadehāya trivedīdivyacakṣuṣe |
śreyaḥprāptinimittāya namaḥ somārdhadhāriṇe || 1||

English Translation

Pure knowledge is his body and the three Vedas are his eyes of divine vision. He is the cause for attaining the supreme well-being. To him who wears the half-moon, salutations.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 002 ॥

Sanskrit

सर्वमेतद्विना यस्तु मन्त्राणामपि कीलकम्।
सोऽपि क्षेममवाप्नोति सततं जप्यतत्परः ॥ २॥

Transliteration

sarvametadvinā yastu mantrāṇāmapi kīlakam |
so’pi kṣemamavāpnoti satataṁ japyatatparaḥ || 2||

English Translation

Whosoever is intent on the recitation of these Mantras without all this kīlaka, he also acquires well being.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 003 ॥

Sanskrit

सिद्ध्यन्त्युच्चाटनादीनि वस्तूनि सकलान्यपि।
एतेन स्तुवतां नित्यं स्तोत्रमात्रेण सिद्ध्यति॥॥ ३॥

Transliteration

siddhyantyuccāṭanādīni vastūni sakalānyapi |
etena stuvatāṁ nityaṁ stotramātreṇa siddhyati|||| 3||

English Translation

All things like driving away the undesirables are effective; but for those who laud by means of this, it is effectuated by the mere land.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 004 ॥

Sanskrit

न मन्त्रो नौषधं तत्र न किञ्चिदपि विद्यते।
विना जप्येन सिद्ध्येत सर्वमुच्चाटनादिकम् ॥ ४॥

Transliteration

na mantro nauṣadhaṁ tatra na kiñcidapi vidyate |
vinā japyena siddhyeta sarvamuccāṭanādikam || 4||

English Translation

There is absolutely nothing, no charm, no medicine. All thinks like Uccāṭana are effective without japa of mantras.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 005 ॥

Sanskrit

समग्राण्यपि सिद्ध्यन्ति लोकशङ्कामिमां हरः।
कृत्वा निमन्त्रयामास सर्वमेवमिदं शुभम् ॥ ५॥

Transliteration

samagrāṇyapi siddhyanti lokaśaṅkāmimāṁ haraḥ |
kṛtvā nimantrayāmāsa sarvamevamidaṁ śubham || 5||

English Translation

All are effectuated. Śiva left this for discussion in the world and made all this laud an auspicious mantra.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 006 ॥

Sanskrit

स्तोत्रं वै चण्डिकायास्तु तच्च गुह्यं चकार सः।
समाप्तिर्न च पुण्यस्य तां यथावन्नियन्त्रणाम् ॥ ६॥

Transliteration

stotraṁ vai caṇḍikāyāstu tacca guhyaṁ cakāra saḥ |
samāptirna ca puṇyasya tāṁ yathāvanniyantraṇām || 6||

English Translation

Yea, the laud of Caṇḍikā; and he made it occult. There is no end to the merit it bestows; (and so) he put a restraint.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 007 ॥

Sanskrit

सोऽपि क्षेममवाप्नोति सर्वमेव न संशयः।
कृष्णायां वा चतुर्दश्यामष्टम्यां वा समाहितः ॥ ७॥

Transliteration

so’pi kṣemamavāpnoti sarvameva na saṁśayaḥ |
kṛṣṇāyāṁ vā caturdaśyāmaṣṭamyāṁ vā samāhitaḥ || 7||

English Translation

He (Sādhaka) gets all the well-being no doubt. Concentrated, on the fourteenth or eighth day of the dark fortnight,

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 008॥

Sanskrit

ददाति प्रतिगृह्णाति नान्यथैषा प्रसीदति।
इत्थंरूपेण कीलेन महादेवेन कीलितम् ॥ ८॥

Transliteration

dadāti pratigṛhṇāti nānyathaiṣā prasīdati |
itthaṁ rūpeṇa kīlena mahādevena kīlitam || 8||

English Translation

he gives, he accepts. In no other way She is pleased. By this pivot, it is fixed by Mahādeva.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 009॥

Sanskrit

यो निष्कीलां विधायैनां नित्यं जपति सुस्फुटम्।।
स सिद्धः स गणः सोऽपि गन्धर्वो जायतेऽवने ॥ ९॥

Transliteration

yo niṣkīlāṁ vidhāyaināṁ caṇḍīṁ nityaṁ japati susphuṭam |
sa siddhaḥ sa gaṇaḥ so’pi gandharvo jāyate’vane || 9||

English Translation

Whoever frees this from restraint and constantly recites it clearly, he is the accomplished one, Siddha, he is in the retinue of the goddess. He becomes a Gandharva in protection.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 010 ॥

Sanskrit

न चैवाप्यटतस्तस्य भयं क्वापि हि जायते।
नापमृत्युवशं याति मृतो मोक्षमाप्नुयात् ॥ १०॥

Transliteration

na caivāpyaṭatastasya bhayaṁ kvāpi hi jāyate |
nāpamṛtyuvaśaṁ yāti mṛto mokṣamāpnuyāt || 10||

English Translation

When he goes about, from nowhere does fear come to him. He does not become a victim of untimely accidental death. After death, he attains liberation.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 011 ॥

Sanskrit

ज्ञात्वा प्रारभ्य कुर्वीत ह्यकुर्वाणो विनश्यति।
ततो ज्ञात्वैव सम्पन्नमिदं प्रारभ्यते बुधैः ॥ ११॥

Transliteration

jñātvā prārabhya kurvīta hyakurvāṇo vinaśyati |
tato jñātvaiva sampannamidaṁ prārabhyate budhaiḥ || 11||

English Translation

Having known, one should begin and perform; if he does not perform, he perishes. The very fact of having known itself is fulfilment. This is begun by the knowers.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 012॥

Sanskrit

सौभाग्यादि च यत्किञ्चिद् दृश्यते ललनाजने।
तत्सर्वं तत्प्रसादेन तेन जाप्यमिदं शुभम् ॥ १२॥

Transliteration

saubhāgyādi ca yatkiñcid dṛśyate lalanājane |
tatsarvaṁ tatprasādena tena jāpyamidaṁ śubham || 12||

English Translation

All those like auspiciousness etc. seen in the womenfolk are due to Her grace. Therefore, this auspicious laud should be recited.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 013॥

Sanskrit

शनैस्तु जप्यमानेऽस्मिन् स्तोत्रे सम्पत्तिरुच्चकैः।
भवत्येव समग्रापि ततः प्रारभ्यमेव तत् ॥ १३॥

Transliteration

śanaistu japyamāne’smin stotre sampattiruccakaiḥ |
bhavatyeva samagrāpi tataḥ prārabhyameva tat || 13||

English Translation

Even when this laud is recited slowly, lofty results to be the complete fulfilment. And therefore, it has to be commenced.

॥ Kīlakam ॥ Śloka 014॥

Sanskrit

ऐश्वर्यं यत्प्रसादेन सौभाग्यारोग्यसम्पदः च।
शत्रुहानिः परो मोक्षः स्तूयते सा न किं जनैः ॥ १४॥

Transliteration

aiśvaryaṁ yatprasādena saubhāgyārogyasampadaḥ ca |
śatruhāniḥ paro mokṣaḥ stūyate sā na kiṁ janaiḥ || 14||

English Translation

Why will she not be praised by people when wealth, auspiciousness, health and other felicities, destruction of enemies and great liberation are all Her grace.

॥ इति कीलकस्तोत्रं समाप्तम्॥

Transliteration
